Why Education Is The Best Personal Protection Tool You Can Have

By Zalmae A Bulenger

When I decided to acquire myself a stun device for personal protection, the very first advice I obtained was to choose one which just had a mild stunning effect. This perplexed me.

I knew stun weapons were non-deadly so there was no threat of ending a life or inducing long-term injury. And common sense said to me the more powerful the weapon, the less this took in order to do the job.

But Mr. Vance is not just a dealer of personal protection tools. He particularly likes to assist first-time buyers by teaching them. From him, I learned that pain is the fastest effect immediately after getting zapped, which some individuals are able to bear. However, the electrical shock that courses through the body immediately after contact is precisely what throws enemies off.

He stressed that personal protection gadgets weren't for fighting the criminals but incapacitating them so that you could get away. Used correctly, even a low voltage stun device applied for two to three seconds at vulnerable areas of the body would stop your attacker, Mr. Vance stated.

Even though it was not a girly-looking gadget, he stated a 100,000 volts Stun Master straight stun gun was suited to novices. It was about the size of an electric razor, with two very visible prongs. And its power would only give a mild stunning effect.

In this way, I wouldn't be as frightened the moment I used it since the sizzle and zap would not be as strong as from those with a million volts or more. However I had to target any of the neck, shoulder, stomach or groin of my opponent for it to work effectively. If I could possibly extend contact, then so much the better.

The next thing Mr. Vance mentioned was to practice, at least, in handling the stun device, letting my finger become accustomed to the switch and how to keep my wits about me as soon as up against danger. Remember that you've got a means of defense, he mentioned.

That is Mr. Vance. He feels a stun gun for self defense is only as good as its wielder.
