WWE & Kendra Smith: Can Both Utilize Social Media Agencies?

By Rob Sutter

WWE Divas have gotten a terrible reputation in the past and it seems like it all boils down to a lack of wrestling ability. Some have considered the matches that these ladies have "boring," even though it's clear that there are a few ladies who can effectively have a number of great matches. It seems like there's going to be a new hire, though, and it's definitely a great prospect. In order to build this woman up, perhaps social media agencies can be of some help.

This new hire goes by the name of Kendra Smith and it seems like she's more than simply a pretty face. While I can see her being a face for WWE to build their female division around based on looks alone, she has the ability to back it up. Did you know that Smith has a litany of skills at her disposal, ranging from mixed martial arts to kickboxing? It's clear that she has a lot of potential and possibly more physical skill than many females in WWE today.

Smith's personality seems contagious and I think that's because she doesn't try to be someone she's not. Based on the videos posted on her official website, she trains with such a personable attitude and she doesn't seem to complain when she's hit too hard. I think people can get behind this demeanor more so than any overblown characters that wrestling as typically been accused of having. The everywoman character would bode well for Smith, if the people behind WWE allow her to simply be herself.

It seems like Smith would be an ideal addition to a faltering Divas division but what use would social media agencies have, you may wonder? Look at companies like fishbat, for instance, and the way that they go about reputation management in order to highlight the bright points that clients have. It's clear that Smith is going to have competition in this division and being able to showcase her skills in fighting is important. She may be able to help make the shoddy Divas matches fun in the long run.

Wrestling is one of those shows that I watch with a mind to critique and the Divas division has gained a fair amount of criticism from me. It's possible that the company thinks little of these female performers, which isn't fair. They can work good matches if given the time to do so, which isn't always the case so it's hard to blame the workers. Maybe Smith is a symbol of a change that could rock the females division and help to build it up in the future.
