Free Techniques to Get More Followers on Twitter

By Jennifer Harper

Twitter is amongst the top social marketing sites online at the moment and with 200 million active users it is no surprise that so many firms use the site to connect with customers, promote and generate brand awareness.

Ask Current Supporters in a Tweet

Maybe you've been online for roughly a year now and have got a few supporters - but not quite enough to actually reach out the potential number of buyers you could have (business is all about growth after all).

Ask your dependable fans and followers to help get more followers in a tweet! Or maybe better, make certain that you tweet continually and always produce good quality, non-spammy tweets that make other followers notice you. If you can produce excellent quality tweets fairly frequently with funs tuff, helpful links or different media then you can reach out to a complete range of people and even proponents of your followers!

Help Out Fellow Tweeters

If you are going to expect re-tweets and people to follow you, do them the same courtesy. It's like a "If you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" eventuality - only it's online! Likewise, if you follow someone and they do not follow you back, then "unfollow" them.

Join a Social Exchange Site

Social Exchange sites like Add Me Fast or You Like Hits are popular amongst those people that are on social media sites only for promotional purposes. You can join free and use points to exchange likes with other users of the site so that you're not "buying" likes as such, but instead exchanging them by linking other people pages or sites or following them on Twitter.

Determine Your Account

If you own a widely recognized brand or just want to defend the legitimacy of "you", then it is easy to get your account confirmed so that your supporters know that it is the real you that's tweeting all of the time instead of an imposter using your name or name. The "Real Thing" is far more sure to get proponents than a fake impersonator.

Offer Something to New Followers

It does not take lots of energy to click "Follow" on Twitter, and when a user thinks they can gain something by following you then much more reason to become involved. A great way of advertising for free is to offer something for free that will be worth something to somebody else. Gift certificates, services or goods offered in a tweet is sure to attract new fans? Just so long as it is something people will definitely need. As an example you could say ?I will give a [free mug/$50 gift certificate for Amazon/bunch of flowers] to a random Twitter supporter that joins me today? Just make absolutely sure that the offer is appealing enough to make someone click! You can get a large number of fans and few folks will unsubscribe thereafter.

Remember that quality not quantity is the key to decent traffic - but both is even better!
