Secrets of Valentines Day Flowers

It may be extremely awkward not knowing symbolic meanings associated with flowers when you gift them to your loved ones. When you thoughtfully choose a certain color, variety or number of flowers for someone, that brings a whole new meaning to the gesture of gifting flowers.

Red Rose

The red rose has one simple meaning - love. In the ancient Roman and Greek time roses had a much different use to what they do nowadays, they were use as perfume, medicine and food & drink however in modern timeshanding a loved one a bouquet of roses displays a act passion and romance. A tip to keep your red rose in perfect condition is to carefully wrap paper around the head so they are held upright, re-cut the stems and stand in very hot water, leave them there overnight and they will be longer lasting by morning.

Syringa

If this Valentines Day is your first with someone special, then there is no better way than conveying your emotions than with a bunch of fresh syringa flowers. Syringa means the first emotions of love. So,this would be the perfect way for you to show that new lover your special feelings.

Tulip

Tulips are some of the most well-known flowers worldwide,thetulip is a perennial, bulbous plant with showy flowers in the genusTulipa, of which up to 109 species, they can come in various colors which all portray different meanings. Pink Tulips are a symbol of caring, attachment and good wishes. They would be appropriate for a friend or family member.The red tulip symbolizes love and romance.White Tulips represents purity, innocence, forgiveness and respect, they would be a great flower to give with an apology.

Carnation

The Carnation also know as Dianthus caryophyllus is a very meaningful flower. It's scientific name dianthus roughly translates into 'flower of love', this would be a perfect flower to give to a wife or a long term partner. The flowers are sweetly scented; the original natural flower color is bright pinkish-purple, but cultivars of other colors, including red, white, yellow and green, have been developed.Light red carnations represent admiration, while dark red denote deep love and affection.White carnations represent pure love and good luck, while striped carnations symbolize regret that a love cannot be shared which would be the perfect option to get flowers delivered to someone who you cannot share valentines day with. Pink carnations have the most symbolic and historical significance. According to a Christian legend, carnations first appeared on Earth as Jesus carried the Cross. The Virgin Mary shed tears at Jesus' plight, and carnations sprang up from where her tears fell. Thus the pink carnation became the symbol of a mother's undying love.
