Running Your Reputable Equine Classifieds Website? Read These Suggestions

By Billy Mouser

Have you ever wanted to manage a successful equine classifieds website? This is your chance. Just follow these tips and you will succeed.

Use giveaways to promote your site. For example, if you sell eco-friendly kitchen towels, include a calendar magnet within the items shipment box. Put your URL or company name on the magnet. If your client places the magnet on their refrigerator, anyone who visits the fridge will see your URL.

Host your blog on a different server. If it's not onsite, it will boost the value of the link. It's okay to host on another platform like WordPress and Bloggger. Blogger's is Google's platform.

Look at meme trackers to see what ideas are spreading. If you write about popular spreading ideas with plenty of original content (and link to some of the original resources), your site may get listed as a source on the meme tracker site.

Execute branded keywords onto your site. For example, if your site promotes hair extensions, use keywords such as "Katies Hair Extensions Sale." This can be especially useful to put into your title tag. Therefore, this keeps your brand at the front of mind for your viewers.

Potential clients love the idea of getting to know who they are buying from. This is unique to ecommerce sites only of course, but it is important to consider what the customer might be feeling. Making it personal gives the opportunity to make the customer feel part of the team.

Link exchange pages are seen as amateurish and a 'spam' technique so get rid of them. Work on your search ranking by uploading good content on a consistent basis. If your site looks good to humans, it will succeed in the end.

If you are writing a particularly strong article, let your peers know about it. People want to give their readers something useful. They may tweet about it or link to it on their own site, giving you more marketing.

Buttons and links should change in appearance when hovered-over so the user knows they are links. Even a subtle change in color or shading is enough to indicate that the item is clickable. This is especially important for call-to-action buttons like 'Buy Now'.
