Mark Cuban - A Maverick Among Men

By Hedrick Lepsch

To the unfamiliar eye, Mark Cuban seems to be a maverick among men. That is probably a decently accurate description of him. To every man, there are many sides, and this is the one he tends to let shine out. What is he really like? Who knows? Can anyone but his closest friends, family, and business partners? As with anyone made famous via the media, we get one version of him. So, this is that version. Accurate or not, this is the way he is perceived by most.

This is a tip that everybody knows, but few have the discipline to actually put it into practice. Learning the materials for your nursing exams becomes much easier if you dedicate time everyday towards reviewing what you have learned in classes. Cramming is not an effective way to study because of the way your memory converts short-term memories into long-term ones. Short-term memory becomes long-term memory through time.

Studying everything three hours before your exam may get you passing grades, but little of what you study will be converted into long-term memory. This can be remedied by studying for an hour every day and allowing the material to transfer into your long-term memory. If put into practice, this strategy can help you ace your exams!

Needless to say, Mark Cuban gets around. It would seem that he isn't afraid of anything and that he will try anything that appeals to him. Such a personality naturally leads to another skill: getting into trouble. Mark has been charged with various things multiple times, many of which he was dismissed of, but many of which he was not. It just comes with the territory (and personality).

Relationships are important for any human being. If you aren't staying connected, then you aren't maintaining those relationships. It takes persistence and a sense of commitment to really stay on top of your family and friends. They can bring you the greatest commodity that you are looking for; love. Make sure you are just as ready to love back. Family and friends are your support system that will be there even when all else fails and the truth is, you get out what you put in.

When you get discouraged, remember the importance of what you are doing. This is not only a career or a way to earn a living; it is a way of life that is a critical part of society. Your studies and hard work will enable you to save lives in the future, so keep that in mind. Keep working hard and doing your best and eventually you will graduate and join the ranks of great nurses like Clara Barton and others who have changed the world through nursing.
