Always include an unsubscribe link in your emails. Do not forget to insert the unsubscribe link or put it in a hard-to-find spot. Your customers must be made to feel that they are choosing to subscribe, and not that your emails are being forced upon them.

Determine a schedule for sending your emails, and stick to the schedule as much as possible. Make it your goal to send out your newsletters on the same day and time every week. Your subscribers will be looking forward to getting emails as often as you promised them in the beginning, and they will be looking for it to be available at that time.

Before sending your email, make sure you've tested all the embedded links. When the links are not working or arrive at a dead end, your email has lost all of its value. It can also make your emails look less professional, as consumers know that professional emails should not contain errors.

Wish your email subscribers a hearty happy birthday on the appropriate day, assuming you have collected that information. Set up your system to automatically send out a big 'Happy Birthday' email to subscribers on their special day. Throw in discounts, coupons or special offers when possible so that subscribers feel and have appreciation for your business.

Come up with a sales list that is targeted very well. You can achieve this by having your best customers tell whoever they know to join your mailing list. If your list is exclusive, it will seem more professional and command more respect.
