This is a service which is historical in nature and mainly conducted or hosted by a person named Dr. Stephen. The program is aired live on a weekly basis. The post is aimed at providing the views or listeners a reality, informative, decisive and very informal picture of a house of God for the past one thousand years and above. The sermons can also range or come different books in the bible and can be used to encourage people. 5 minutes church has helped many Christians to strengthen their faith in Christ and live an upright life irrespective of who they were before. 5 minute church enlightens people and educates them on the Christianity journey.
The host of such sermons usually takes back his congregation back in the days when Christianity was put in test, where Christians were persecuted and shows them despite all the tribulations and persecutions they never gave up on their faith. With such stories Christians are encouraged to continue believing in Christ and for those who have not yet received and accepted Jesus Christ as their lord and savior they are preached to and eventually get born again.
Each of these podcast provides a clear and easy comprehensible and easily digestible glimpse of basically how eternal, all powerful and unchangeable our God has worked or done to his people who remained true and faithful to him and also show how God has done to church over many past generations. Such stories of courage, faith and standing firm with the lord over the years is told to people to encourage the present day people.
Edward gave his sermon by first unfolding the story of redemption. He briefly touched on Adam story and how his relationship was with God until Adam committed sin and was cut off from the garden of Aden. This sin separated man from God since God disliked sin. He then quickly touched on second coming of Jesus Christ and also touched on redemption promise.
Edward spoke of something that made Englishmen who were present to squirm. This is because he openly stated the reason why they went to colonies. The reason for them to go to colonies was to spread the gospel to them. He also noted that they had failed in their mission to show them the light.
He said colonials chose not to show them the right but instead kept them in dark so as to take advantage of them and steal their resources. He openly told the Mohawks tribesmen that colonialism and them were no different. The only difference was that colonials worshipped the true God. Edward lastly invited this tribesmen to receive the light from God which was better than light from sun.
There are many instances where Christianity history has been used to bring more people to Christ and these instances include sermon of the treaty where Jonathan Edward was invited to address the guests who were invited to witness the signing of peace treaty between the Mohawk and Massachusetts.
Some guests were invited to address the congregation but the most appealing speech was the speech by Jonathan Edwards. He spoke to them about the almighty God and how he created Adam and Eve and there after spoke of Jesus Christ and the promise of life after death. He argued the people to be the lights for others and shine where there is darkness.
