Creating Professional Looking Personal Wedding Websites

By Essie Osborn

Joining hands in matrimony is such a special and grand occasion that comes with a great celebration. Everyone is excited, and especially the bride and groom. A tip for those going to tie the knot--create personal wedding websites. They will go a long way in showcasing the special event, and be very useful on so many other levels.

Brides and grooms can develop these in many ways, but personalizing them is important with a welcoming homepage. Like this, guests will have some insight as to what to expect on the big day. Be sure to thank them on the homepage, for visiting and for being a part of the special event.

The site should also provide some detailed information that can simplify everyone's life. For example, display the date and time of the ceremony and reception, as well as the addresses. Tell them a little about what may follow and give them a glimpse or a preview of what's expected. For instance, hint at the menu, the music genre, the attire, and so on. In doing so, guests may choose an outfit suitable way in advance and prepare themselves for the special event.

Make it a fairytale or share the love story of how the happy couple met. Don't stop there! Share the special moments that led to the engagement, and don't be shy to post some photos. It's a good idea to share the honeymoon location, as it will avoid the bride and groom from having to answer this question hundreds of times, while including them in the plans.

Although one may not be internet savvy, creating such a site is not difficult. The important thing to remember is to unfold information in an organized manner, using logic. The proper flow will enable guests to visit and remain engaged. There are three vital parts to it, beginning with the time, the location and how guests should dress. This way they will know everything there is to know, and no unpleasant surprises. Be considerate, however, and opt for a larger and clearer font for legibility.

The couple should also use this platform to provide other information in detail. Some may require children be excluded from cocktail hour. In offering this information, one can plan ahead so there are no embarrassing situations.

Very often people lose sight of things, including time and invitations. A wedding website would simplify these problems, and allow them to refer to a place where all the information they need is on the computer or mobile device. As such, it's crucial to provide the venue names, addresses and directions thereof.

Provide personal contact information as well including the home address, email address and phone numbers. At the same time, take advantage of the space available to provide out-of-town guests with any information they may need, like nearby amenities, accommodations and restaurants. As everyone lives on a different budget and has different needs, provide a variety of places and options.

With permission, provide the maid of honor's contact information to help with the registry. Any questions the guests may have can be reliably answered by the responsible person. The more they know about it, the happier the couple will be.
