Suggestions For Preventing The Growth Of HPV

By Desire Wilt

The HPV virus which causes warts to appear as growths on our skin is described by doctors as extremely contagious. Simply put they are easily spread to other parts of the body and to other people. The best way to prevent the spreading of warts, of course, is to treat them. Wartrol is an excellent treatment option. However, all wart treatments take a period of time. During this time it is important to adopt some simple behaviour to help prevent the spreading of warts.

All warts will take time to treat and then heal. Regardless of what treatment you choose, warts are a stubborn growth and they need to time a consistent effective treatment before they will disappear. While you are treating the warts it is important that you adopt some simple behaviours to stop the warts from spreading.

A Helpful Guide to Prevent the Spreading of Warts

1. Wash your hands after touching: if you have to touch the wart the most important thing you can do to stop the spreading of the virus is to wash your hands. It is imperative that you wash your hands thoroughly after touching a wart and before you touch anywhere else on your body. The virus can attach its self to your skin and then be transported to sensitive parts of your body.

2. Don't touch, scratch or pick: of course it would be best if you did not touch the wart at all. Touching can spread the virus to other parts of your body and to other people. Scratching and picking can spread the virus in the area which it has already infected. If you are finding it difficult not to touch then cover the wart with an adhesive plaster.

3. Don't shave or brush the infected area: the HPV virus is able to attach its self to inanimate objects and then be transferred to other parts of your body and other people's bodies. Shaving the area can break the skin helping the virus to spread in the area that you have shaven.

4. Don't share personal items: if you or someone whom you live with is suffering from an outbreak of warts it is essential that you do not share items like towels, razor blades etc as the virus can be transferred through inanimate objects.

5. Seek treatment quickly: the longer you wait to treat the virus the more likely it is that the warts will spread.
