A Collections Company & How I'd Run A Gaming Company

By Rob Sutter

To say that there has been quite a bit of news in terms of gaming recently is something of an understatement. With E3 gaining as much coverage in the media as it has, it seems like it was only a matter of time before the Internet was flooded with one story after another. From a personal standpoint, though, I have to wonder what running a great video game mogul would entail. There are some tips which should be kept in mind, whether by a collections company or not.

1. Make sure that, more than anything else, the needs of the consumer are met. Sometimes you have to be able to appeal to the needs of gamers, which may be something that is more complicated by comparison. Does the idea of blocking used games create more potential profits for those who have created the titles to begin with? I think that it goes but, in the same vein, it can also turn away those who might have bought the hardware if such restrictions were not present.

2. Never keep your audience out of loop. Staying in constant contact is something that should be kept in mind because of how much the public is going to crave such a thing. One of the aspects that I cannot stand is when something goes awry and a company takes far too long to address the matter. The ability to stay on top of things, when talking about this, can only help to save face amongst the community that should be appealing to more than any other.

3. There are rules which may be considered unspoken but keep these in mind as well. Companies are going to vary in terms of magnitude but each of them seems to understand just how important new concepts are. Potential is an aspect that can be looked at by a collections company as well. They understand the magnitude of work that can be seen and reputable agencies along the lines of R.R.S. will tell you how important it is to realize said the aforementioned idea of potential as well.

Hopefully there are more rules that are understood in this line of work but I think that one theme seems to repeat itself more often than any other. Consumers are the sources of success in this industry and those who are involving in gaming have a part in the future that will be shaped. Whether or not it will be one that the entire gaming public will be supportive of is difficult to say. That being said, I look forward to seeing what will happen in the years to come.
