Membership Web sites Are A Fantastic Business Model

By George Blackwell

Where models for a home business are concerned, membership sites are right at the very top. No doubt you have came across membership web sites, and possibly even belong to one or two. Perhaps based on a product type, or information need, these web sites are specific to a market segment. It can be about collecting coins, online marketing, how to play golf, or any number of topics. You usually need to join a membership site to get access to the information you'd like. It will be a better membership site if the information you have, can't be easily found on the Internet for free.

Every time you have information that people want, you can create a successful membership site. You can usually join free of charge, but won't get access to much more than a basic level of information. The nice thing about a membership website is that even at the free level, you will get a name and email address added to your mailing list. People will gladly join your website if your content is valuable to them, and they want to be kept current by your newsletter. Having a tiered level membership website, where each level costs more but gives information that is better in some manner, makes really good profits. These may be good quality free gifts or access to advanced services or products, perhaps with deep discounts.

Most members like the information on a membership website only to be accessible with a password and username. Think of belonging to Facebook or Twitter, as they are membership websites. Exactly how rich could you get with a membership platform like either one of them? The themes of membership sites are diverse, and the only limitation is your creativity. If you could get new members to join each day you will soon have an excellent monthly income, without the need to charge any more than $5 a month.

Society is brimful of things which people find desirable enough to pay money for. You need only pick from these things to have the subject for your membership website. You wouldn't like a subject where there is way too much competition, but there must be someone looking for what you have. One good way to know about membership sites is to join a number of them. Find out how they are put together, and learn what type of information is needed to get people to sign up for free. Analyse the emails and/or updates they mail you. About their emails, take note of their regularity and the degree of advertising that they include. When you see something that causes you to think of unsubscribing, make sure you refrain from doing the same.

Membership web sites are the best available business model, but you do need to carry out research. After you get it all set up, it will virtually run itself. All you have to do is generate traffic to your web site.
