Even people with darker skin may get sunburns. It doesn't even matter how tanned you already are, it won't make you untouchable. So, it is important to use different protective creams while spending time on the beach. With all the protective measures, you can still get sunburns. If this happens, here are some tips on how to heal sunburn.

You should apply your sunblock cream frequently, especially if you were swimming in the meantime. If you notice the redness on some areas, cool the skin rinsing it with fresh water or, when you can, take a cold shower. Immediately apply another layer of your sunblock cream and search for a shade. Wear a hat and some comfortable clothes. Wear the hat whenever you can, during summer months, your skin will appreciate it, and it looks great.

Once you come home, take a cold shower and leave the skin to dry naturally, without using a towel. Depending how serious your sunburns are, you might be having blisters on some area. If you do, apply a generous amount of mild moisturizer, containing aloe vera and, if it is really needed, protect the skin with a gaze. Take frequent showers to ease the pain and discomfort.

When it comes to aloe vera products, choose those with no fragrances added. Pay special attention to a presence of components finishing with -caine, especially benzocaine. Avoid buying and applying such products. For this particular purpose, your moisturizer should be as natural as possible, to avoid possible side effects and allergies. Aloe vera is great for treating skin damages.

Take a pain killer or a simple aspirin to ease the pain and reduce the swelling. Wear some comfortable clothes and stay out from the sun. Drink as much water as you can, but avoid drinking any other liquids, except maybe freshly squeezed juice. Any alcohol is strictly forbidden because it will certainly make things worst.

There are some home remedies that might also be quite helpful. For damages without blisters, try applying cold yogurt on, or maybe sour cream, if you don't have yogurt. Hold it there for some time, and then rinse. Slices of fresh cucumber act reduce swelling, and cool the skin. Remember to take a shower, do not rub skin with a towel and apply moisturizer frequently.

You could also apply good quality almond oil on damaged areas. It will speed up the process of recovery. The same effect has the olive oil, but it has to be perfectly pure. Do not apply cooling creams you might have, because they are too intensive for applying on sunburns, and you will cause more damage to the skin.

Another important thing is to avoid any spicy, hot or heavy food. Try to stick to light, fresh foods for a day or two, drinking large amounts of natural water, and eating fruits and vegetables. You could also have your favorite nuts for a snack. It's important to provide fuel for your body, to ease the process of recovery. Minerals and vitamins will help regeneration.
