Cold Brew Recipes For This Summer

By Ann Parker

There are two main cold brew methods, immersion and ice drip method. Each of these methods has its own advantages, and which one you will choose depends on your personal taste. In any case, resulting coffee will be a great base for creating wonderful drinks and desserts, and here will also be some really tasty cold brew recipes.

Immersion brewing method is something you can try today, because all you need is your favorite brand of coffee and water. Of course, the coffee beans should be freshly ground. So, put it in some large container, add eight time as much cold water and stir. This ratio can be changed. If you like stronger coffee, use different ratio instead, for example one to seven, or one to six.

All you have to do is to put everything together and let it sit there for fifteen to twenty hours. Strain the mixture and it's done. The good thing is that this lovely beverage can be kept in refrigerator for days without losing the taste. And the taste is absolutely amazing, balanced and smooth, with caramel notes and full.

Ice drip requires special device. Today, there are some simple devices that can be bought quite cheaply, but without precise drip regulation, you won't be able to achieve the same results. Anyway, the whole point is that water should slowly drip on container filled with ground coffee, passing through it, into the jar. This process may last for maybe ten hours or so.

So, the water will drip on ground coffee very slowly, maybe one drip per second, for hours and hours. Resulting coffee has higher acidity, more distinctive aroma and a wide variety of flavors, with floral and fruity notes included. Takes some time to learn how to make it perfect and you have to invest in the equipment.

So, now you have the base for your tasty summer cocktails. Maybe you should try this one. It is called Nutty milk pleasure, and it's not so hard to make it. Two table spoons of brown sugar, water, approximately 200 ml, some cinnamon powder, 200 ml of your cold infusion, and maybe 100 grams of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream instead, depending on your personal taste.

If you don't have roasted almonds, roast them yourself. Simply put them into the pan and roast for a short time, to release the flavor. Then, ground the almonds and combine with water, strain the mixture, add other ingredients and put some ice cream on the top. You can also put one cinnamon stick on, as decoration.

Another delightful summer beverage is so called Caramel touch. This one is even easier to prepare. Caramelize two table spoons sugar and combine with 100 ml milk. You can use almond or rice milk as well. Strain the mixture and let it cool. Combine 300 ml cold brew coffee with 50 ml coffee liqueur. Fill two large glasses with ice. Add caramelized milk and coffee, decorate with ice cream or whipped milk.
