Any young man around knows all about the lovely Susan Storm Richards. She is also one of the marvel action figures which can be found over the internet. People are also able to locate her husband, brother and best friend if they look hard enough.
Decades ago a great man named Stan Lee introduced a certain woman who was shy and could easily turn invisible. Her name was Susan Storm and she is a very pretty blonde who is the only female member in a team named "The Fantastic Four." A company named Mego decided to make a statue of "The Invisible Woman" after negotiating with the comic company. This statue would remain true to the book and come with washable clothing.
Little boys did not like the idea of playing with a female hero and they tried their best to avoid this particular toy. On today's market a brand new doll of Sue will cost a huge sum of money since she was so unpopular forty years ago. Mattel even tried to produce a likeness of this doll when the "Fantastic Four" movie came out.
Susan Storm has a husband named Reed and many people know that he has great stretching abilities. They call him "Mr. Fantastic" since his powers are quite unique. Mego was wise to produce this statue and he is a also a top seller on today's toy market. Besides "Thor" Reed Richards is one of the best looking male dolls that was produced by this company.
Even though Mego hit it right on the mark with their "Thor, " "Invisible Woman" and "Mr. Fantastic" dolls they really fouled things up with the super gals from DC. Each and every one of these women look the same and they do not even have mature looking faces upon them. It is well known that a certain writer wanted Mego to make the Susan doll exactly like her character in the books.
This same Mego team went on to produce "Conan" who is truly a collectors item. He has a stern look across his face and comes in two different versions. In the 70's Mego decided to produce him with both long and short hair. A company called "Classic TV Toys" is now making a new copy of this statue but the quality is not the same.
In the end Mego made sure that the fans were truly satisfied with their items and they even wanted to make "Isis" with a realistic face. Unfortunately this never happened. Aside from all of this drama fans are still happy with the way that "Thor" turned out. He stands tall with his shining helmet upon his golden hair. "The Avengers" movie has made the price of the Mego "Thor" go higher than usual.
Fortunately Mego also went ahead to produce "The Thing" and "The Human Torch" from the "Fantastic Four" series. The group would not be complete without these two unique characters. Many fans wish that they would have made the Torch's alter ego who is known as Johnny Storm. Some of the companies around today are making this particular item in order to please fans.
