Google Adsense is the workhorse of the make money online world. Most of the time if you see an ad in a web site it is powered by google. The system is very simple. You put in a nugget of javascript code into your web site. That code automatically detects what your page is about from the text in your site. They are called contextual ads. The code then shows advertising that is related the closest to your text.
The javascript is made for you. There is an easy to use wizard that helps you choose the size and type of ads to show, and at the end presents you with the code to enter in your site. You get paid monthly if you have made a minimum of $100 in money. The issues that some may have with adsense are that you don't know how much you are going to be paid. Google does not declare what the percentage will be.
You may have google adsense ads shown with other ad systems as long as they are not also contextual ads. Most web sites use Adsense with other advertising systems to maximize their earning potential
