We are now in the month of November and, as a result, I don't see city bike usage moving upward. I can't name many people who want to ride their bicycles in this bitter cold weather aside from those who are hardcore about cycling or have no other means of transportation. The fact that the weather is becoming colder cannot be ignored and these bikes need to be stored away. They can come out during the springtime, for sure, but what will it hurt to plan for the day?
Once I have a city bike within my possession, I would like to cruise around in places where commuting stands strong. There are many biking authorities such as Linus, which utilize bicycles in order to bring them to the masses and there are several places to make them useful. San Francisco is one area where commuter biking is rampant. With sixty miles of roads for bikers to utilize, moving about on two wheels is seamless and I wish other areas would incorporate such roads as well.
Think about just how other locations are adapting in order to accomodate cyclists as well. A few months ago, it was reported that Copenhagen, Demark had opened up its first superhighway in a series of 26 planned. This is something to make note of, not just because Copenhagen is considered to be the safe haven of those who enjoy cycling. Rather, it's an example of where we may be later on down the road if these superhighways multiply throughout the world.
Speaking of the concept of growth, it seems like other countries have decided to incorporate this very idea of effective travel. Sweden made the announcement that it plans to create a great road in order to connect two separate cities. The road in question would be used exclusively by cyclists, showing that no one idea is confined to one area of the world. Other places have incorporated it well and the snowball effect on display can't be ignored.
Having these superhighways put into place promotes a healthy living style and it can reduce the carbon footprint many of us leave in the process. It's one of the many factors to consider if you plan on using a city bike during the spring and summer months. Getting into good physical condition can be done through something as casual as bike riding. Able to be utilized by just about anyone regardless of age, those very months are looking beautiful.
